Don't be fooled by the rock-bottom prices promised by some hosting providers.  You've heard the expression that you can make the numbers say anything you want them to say, and there is no better example of that than what we are about to show you.  

Many so-called low-cost hosting providers are advertising hosting accounts that have one especially attractive feature.  The price.  Many of these companies sell accounts for under $10 per month but what they don't bother to tell you is that there will be none of the functionality on your account that you'll need if you're doing any kind of business on the web.  Just an empty space to upload your files to.  They are banking on the fact that most people haven't taken the time to learn enough about web hosting to know the difference.  They hope that people will think all web hosting accounts are alike and that the only difference worth considering is price.  

Essentially, this is the same as  having a car salesman tell you the price on the new BMW 323Ci convertible is $500 - total.  So you purchase the car, put the key in the ignition, the engine starts, the radio even works, but when you try to put it into gear - it doesn't budge.  You go back to the salesman to complain the car won't move and he says "well, if you had ordered a transmission at the time you bought the car, you wouldn't be having this trouble."  How much is the transmission you ask, and the salesman tells you it's $35,000 extra.  That's exactly how low-cost hosting providers operate.

People may not know what a perl script is and they may not know why they need one, but they do know the difference between $24.95 and $8.25.  Low-cost hosting providers count on this fact.  They conclude that most people don't understand what's involved in a quality web hosting account and therefore people will always choose the one that costs less.  A lot of people are taken in by this.  They sign up for the account only to discover several months down the road that it doesn't have the transmission or the functionality they really need.  We know this, because many of them are now our clients - and they tell us!  

We know that if you don't know the difference now, between an account that has what you need - and one that doesn't - that it won't be long before you figure it out.  That's why we give you the features you're really going to need to make your web site an online success.  And that's why we don't play make-believe with the price.  This way there are no surprises for you down the road.  

The table above and detailed analysis below, will show that although our advertised price is higher than their advertised price, that in reality - our advertised price is lower than the price you will actually pay with them for a fully-functional, e-commerce-ready web site.  The low-cost provider we discuss below advertises accounts at $8.25 per month.  They are one of the largest so-called low-cost providers.  What they don't bother to tell you is that they do not provide you with two essential capabilities that anyone doing business over the web is going to need.  Another thing they don't tell you is that when you finally discover you need those two things - it's going to cost you an additional $20.00 per month -- that's in addition to the $8.25 per month they advertise.  When you sign up for a LazyLizard account, all the features you're going to need for a successful commercial web site are included from the start.
